BEST ALBUM OF 2008 –ALL REBEL ROCKERS by Michael Franti & Spearhead

I urge you to buy the BEST ALBUM of 2008 "ALL REBEL ROCKERS" by Michael Franti & Spearhead. Turn it up, take off your shoes, dance your ass off and soak in all the positive vibes that Michael releases into his music. He truly is an amazing person who is able to elevate one’s soul. ALL REBEL ROCKERS came out in September 2008, and although you may not hear SPEARHEAD on the radio, this album is fantastic from Track 1 (RUDE BOYS BACK IN TOWN) to Track 13 (HAVE A LITTLE FAITH). In a day and age where single tracks are purchased and FULL albums are almost a thing of the past, a decent complete album is a rarity, and this one is PURE GOLD. Produced by Michael Franti and the amazing duo of SLY & ROBBIE (Gwen Stefani, Sean Paul, Matisyahu) this album truly captures the essence and positive energy of Michael Franti.

For those of you out there that have never heard or seen Michael Franti & Spearhead LIVE, I urge you to go see him and experience a Spearhead show. ISLAND RECORDS founder Chris Blackwell ( Bob Marley Producer) calls Michael Franti "the most important artist touring today" and I personally think that he will go down as the Bob Marley of our generation. He is a compassionate and passionate musician, a peace activist (www.powertothepeaceful.org) and a force for positive change in this challenging world.

ROLLING STONE magazine had John Mellencamp, LIFE, DEATH, LOVE and FREEDOM at #5, My Morning Jacket, EVIL URGES at #4, Lil Wayne, THA CARTER III at #3, Bob Dylan TELL TALE SIGNS–THE BOOTLEG SERIES VOL.8 at #2, and at #1 TV ON THE RADIO with DEAR SCIENCE. Not to knock ROLLING STONE magazine, (especially since I want to write for them,) but I think that their Top 50 Albums are from a Record Company perspective and commercial viability standpoint rather than from the point of the true essence of what great music is and can be.

ALL REBEL ROCKERS would win the Grammy for BEST ALBUM if I was in charge and this album goes down as THE MOST CRUCIAL ALBUM OF THE YEAR ACCORDING TO CRUCIAL MATTERS.
