DANIEL SULLIVAN: THE STAGE-INVADER who ATTACKED OASIS SENTENCING Report

Daniel Sullivan does not look like the same man who attacked Noel & Liam Gallagher on September 7th, 2008 at the Virgin Festival in Toronto. He looks pale, gaunt, stressed-out and more than a few pounds lighter than on that fateful day that he decided that he was going to sneak on stage in the middle of the OASIS Set and attack the Gallagher brothers, seriously injuring Noel by breaking three of his ribs. I guess that getting death threats from OASIS fans worldwide and seeing "Wanted: DEAD OR ALIVE" posters on-line of yourself will do that to you. I am sure that the toll has been extremely heavy on Mr. Sullivan's life and that of his family.

The defence of being "too drunk to remember" what happened or led to the events in which Noel Gallagher was attacked was dismissed by the Crown as NO EXCUSE AT ALL for outlandish criminal behaviour, and in the Crown's submission, they were seeking a JAIL SENTENCE of between 6 to 9 months. The Crown said that if he was agile enough to get on stage, he was not inebriated enough to NOT know what he was doing.

OASIS were forced to cancel several gigs including a sold-out show in London, Ontario; a very high-profile sold-out Concert at Terminal 5 in New York City that was supposed to be filmed for major TV and DVD distribution world-wide, as well as having to re-schedule several sold-out European dates. The momentum gained on promoting a new album was lost and we learned today that Noel Gallagher has launched a $2 MILLION DOLLAR CIVIL LAWSUIT for losses against Daniel Sullivan.

According to Noel Gallagher's Victim Impact Statement the pain was extreme and instant, he had difficulty breathing and internal bruising and he was forced to endure months of 3-times-a-week painful physiotherapy sessions and today still feels twinges of pain with his doctors saying that he will experience minor pain for the rest of his life. Noel also said he was operating at less than 50% for many, many months. We learned that Daniel Sullivan, 48, was raised in London, England, is a hard-working married family man, with three young boys and a business doing home-renovations in Pickering, Ontario. He is part of two theatre groups and described by his attorney as "the Quintessential first offender", with "no history of drug or alcohol abuse" who had to leave the family home for some time in a self-imposed exile so his family would not receive the brunt of the world-wide attention and that British Tabloids were parked in-front of his house for days trying to get a statement from him. The toll has been very, very heavy on him and it shows in his face.

What is the CRUCIAL MATTERS take on this situation that I was witness to as I had been responsible for catering the backstage area for the Virgin Festival event crew, security & Artists, and I was enjoying my first sip of beer when Noel got attacked? Well, OASIS MIGHTA DESERVED TO BE PUNCHED IN THE FACE for their years of being pretty damn obnoxious, but not in the middle of a performance, and it was a little brutal as we had been working 16 hour days to pull-off this event and all the good we had done evaporated immediately after the assault as the Backstage area was "LOCKED-DOWN" and everybody was pretty much asked to leave immediately. I can only imagine what the situation had been like had Daniel Sullivan had a knife or weapon and I am sure that Noel thinks about that as well on a daily basis.

Had Daniel Sullivan attacked Liam Gallagher would anybody in the world be upset? Probably not.

The sentencing procedures had to be halted as Judge Schneider was feeling too ill to continue and they had to re-schedule the sentencing for 1 day after 4/20 next month.

Daniel Sullivan I think has paid a huge price and is now entitled to live his life as a convicted felon, always guilty of attacking Noel Gallagher viciously and in a cowardly way from behind. A jail sentence of 2 weeks and a lengthy probation period would be what I would sentence him to.

I also think that DANIEL SULLIVAN IS THE MAIN REASON WHY OASIS IS NO LONGER A BAND as the stress of the situation probably caused major conflict between the Gallagher brothers as concert dates were cancelled and re-scheduled and millions of dollars lost due to not being able to fully promote a new album. Their relationship has always been difficult and testy and this situation most likely put the brothers into the deep-end of discontent.

There are no winners in this situation. We all lost: Daniel Sullivan, his family, OASIS, their fans...losers all around.

Keep It Crucial y'all.

CRUCIAL Blog Entry #55

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE

Love is Lost,
Love is Found,
Love is always close around.

Why is Love so elusive?
So exclusive?
So independently inclusive.

How open are you to Love?
How likely are you to find true Love?
What are you supposed to learn from Love?
When are you supposed to move on?

Is love supposed to last a lifetime?
No.
But it can.

What lessons are we supposed to learn from Love?
What answers are we supposed to learn from Love?
Why do the questions mount with love?
Why are some people so easy to discount for their love?

Why can’t people "be real"?
Is it FEAR?

To Live is TO Love.
Love is Life.
The more we live,
the more the strife.

The more we live
The more we love.

Love touches you in ways that your soul does not understand.
Love touches you in ways that nobody else can.
Love in its purest form is non-judgmental, unconditional, understood and life-affirming.

Love is never far away.
Love is give, love is take.

The essence of love lies deep within the heart.
A mysterious place at times too dark.
But when it is "awoken"
It can never be broken.
Until next time that is.
